Chad Porter, CPA, CEO at Smith Marion, is a recognized thought leader in the world of Housing Authorities, with unparalleled industry connections. Chad has had the privilege of sharing his expertise on the national stage, speaking at prestigious conferences such as the AHACPA annual conference, as well as at state, regional, and national Housing Authority associations. Additionally, he has had the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation as an adjunct professor of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University.
Chad Porter is also a co-founder of Smith Marion Connection, a peer group designed for Housing Authorities to discuss industry trends, address issues, and solve challenges. During speaking engagements Chad brings his 25 years of Housing Authority experience. As an interactive speaker, he is known for his ability to explain complex accounting terms in an easy-to-understand manner, leaving his audiences feeling equipped to tackle complex accounting issues.

Pete is a true professional when it comes to business know-how. He has been licensed as an EA since 1994 and has been a Principal with Smith Marion since 2012. He is not only dedicated to his clients and his team, but he also brings a unique balance of fun and professionalism to the workplace. Pete specializes in high-net-worth clients, trusts and estates, and partnership returns. His expertise includes tax preparation with emphasis on management and business consulting, as well as representation before the IRS and other taxing agencies.
Pete doesn’t just stop at his professional endeavors, he is also the President of TEAM Referral Network, a member of CalCPA, Beta Alpha Psi, and the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Club. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Cal State University San Bernardino.
In his free time, Pete loves spending time with his family, including two grown children and grandchildren, and their beloved family dogs. He also has a passion for working on his race car and going to the racetrack on the weekends. He and his wife also enjoy vacationing with their horses and boating at Lake Mojave, showing that Pete truly is a renaissance man who brings his passion and dedication to all aspects of his life.

She joined the team in 2012 and became Principal in 2018, bringing her expertise in compilations, reviews, and audits of Non-Profit Organizations to the forefront. Her dedication to this area of work has earned her recognition and respect within the Inland Empire and Southern California.
Kendra doesn’t just stop at her work, she also goes above and beyond to ensure our team is growing in both technical and soft skills. She has pioneered many of our firm’s key programs.
But Kendra’s passion for Non-Profit Organizations goes beyond her work. In her free time, she volunteers on various Board’s and plays an active role in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She finds joy in making a difference and being a part of something bigger than herself.
