Dockham graduated in 2011 from CaliforniaStateUniversity, San Bernardino, with a Bachelor of Science – Business Administration. She began her career with Smith Marion & Co. in June of 2012 at their Grand Terrace, California office.

Dockham recently passed the Certified Public Accounting examination and is awaiting licensure by the Board of Accountancy. Currently, Dockham is providing auditing and accounting to nonprofit and governmental clients.

The award was presented by Ted Collins of Vicenti, Lloyd & Stutzman who was the outgoing chapter president and Alex Lemos of Hanger 24 Craft Brewery, the incoming chapter president who said of Marion, “David has contributed to our chapter by begin a strong mentor to other professionals, has displayed strong leadership for the adherence to professional standards, and been a source inspiration to others.”

He continues to serve as Chair of the Golf Committee, as well as being an active participant in chapter activities and discussion groups.

San Bernardino – David B. Marion, CPA with Smith Marion & Co., LLP, and out-going Board Chair for Arrowhead United Way, handed over the gavel to Brian Townsend, Precinct Reporter, the in-coming Board Chair for 2013 – 2014.  The passing of the gavel occurred at the Arrowhead United Way (AUW) 2013 Annual Meeting and Awards Breakfast on May 2, 2013 at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino. Past Board Chairs in attendance were Linda Savage, Kevin Lang, and Don Averill.

The theme of the event was, The Magic of Living United, and Marion presided over the 2013 business meeting wearing a magician’s top-hat and wielding a magic wand along with the gavel.

Marion received an award for “Outstanding Support and Leadership” by Doug Rowand, President of Arrowhead United Way, which serves the San Bernardino area. “David has served on the board for over 20 years,” stated Rowand, “and for many of those years, he has been a great help to us as financial chairman.”Marion has served as Board Chairman for the past year and a half. The Arrowhead United Way is dedicated to addressing the highest priority needs of our residents in the areas of education, income and health.

Peter H. Wesch, EA

May 9, 2012—David B. Marion, CPA and Partner of Smith Marion & Co. Certified Public Accountants welcomes Peter H. Wesch as Partner. Mr. Wesch specializes in accounting for and auditing of non-profit organizations and governmental agencies, management & business consulting, low-income housing tax credit partnership audits and tax returns, and business and personal income tax returns. He is an IRS licensed Enrolled Agent (EA). Wesch has been with the firm since 2006, and has served in the capacities of Director, Auditor, and Tax Preparer.

Prior to joining the firm, Wesch served as Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, from 1988-1999. From 1991-2006 he owned his own business, providing bookkeeper and tax preparation services. He holds an Associate of Science (General Studies) from City University, located in Bellevue, WA.  His professional associations include membership with the National Society of Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Timothy May

April 10, 2013—David Marion, Managing Partner of Smith Marion and Company,  announced the promotion of Timothy May to Senior Associate today. May works with clients  in the firm’s audit department. “May will be responsible for the determination of the major  federal programs to be audited,” stated Marion in the announcement. “He will review and  analyze clients’ internal controls, and prepare their financial statements and single audit reports.”

May graduated in 2011 from California State University, San Bernardino, with a Bachelor of  Science – Business Administration. He began his career with Smith Marion & Co. in August of  2011 at their Grand Terrace, California office. May transferred to the firm’s Brentwood, TN  office in November of 2012.

May recently passed the Certified Public Accounting examination and is awaiting licensure by the  Board of Accountancy. He previously worked for US Bank as a Senior Banker where he provided  customer service and ensured operational compliance in branch operations. Currently, May is  providing auditing and accounting to nonprofit and governmental clients.

David Marion, CPA

January 22, 2013—David Marion has been selected to be the Firm’s inaugural managing  partner, effective immediately. Daniel Gregory, Firm Administrator of Smith Marion & Co. LLC,  announced, “During the 2013 Partner Retreat in Palm Desert, David Marion was selected to  establish the position of Managing Partner. As Managing Partner, he will oversee and administer  the firm’s overall practice, management, and day-to-day operations. An immediate benefit of this  change will be that it will allow the other partners to concentrate on working with the clients and  staff mentoring.”

David Marion received his B.S. in Administration and Accounting from California State University, San Bernardino. He specializes in providing auditing and accounting services to  non-profit organizations and government agencies. He currently serves as Board Chair of  Arrowhead United Way and Sturges Center for Fine Arts, in San Bernardino, California.
