Redlands – David B. Marion, CPA and Managing Partner with Smith Marion & Co., LLP, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award, by the California Society of CPAs Inland Empire Chapter (CalCPA), at their May 7, 2013 dinner meeting at Romano’s Restaurant, in Redlands. The award was for service to the profession “above and beyond.” Marion has actively served the CalCPA for nearly 20 years and has been a member since 1985. He was the 2002-03 Chapter President and past Chair of the Non-Profit Committee.
The award was presented by Ted Collins of Vicenti, Lloyd & Stutzman who was the outgoing chapter president and Alex Lemos of Hanger 24 Craft Brewery, the incoming chapter president who said of Marion, “David has contributed to our chapter by begin a strong mentor to other professionals, has displayed strong leadership for the adherence to professional standards, and been a source inspiration to others.”
He continues to serve as Chair of the Golf Committee, as well as being an active participant in chapter activities and discussion groups.
